Shipping Hatching Eggs
Hatching eggs are shipped Canada wide, sorry no U.S.A. orders. We take care in providing you with fresh fertile eggs and package them very well. Many things can cause an egg not to hatch, such as poor handling, late delivery, x ray, box damage, air sac damage, incubation techniques, wrong humidity, temperature ect. We do monthly checks for fertility on all our breeds. To make sure fertility is over 85% or higher. We hatch weekly here at the farm from March 1st to Aug 31st. Please understand there are many things out of our control once the eggs leave the farm. Eggs are never any older than seven days old when shipped. Eggs are shipped X-press post on Monday or Tuesday to make sure they don’t get held up over the weekend at the post office. We are no way responsible for the way Canada Post/ Purolator handles the parcel. Price for shipping eggs depends on your location. Please send your postal code and we will be happy to send you a quote.
We charge a packing fee of $10 per box.
You will receive a tracking number from Canada Post or Purolator once the eggs are dropped off at the Post Office or picked up by Purolator. Your eggs should be delivered within 2-4 days, but can be longer, we do not guarantee arrival time, as once we drop the eggs off at shipping company it is out of your hands. We do not guarantee eggs for late delivery.
When ordering please make sure you have read this declaimer and understand the risk, as we cannot guarantee hatch rates. By ordering hatching eggs form DC Heritage Poultry you accept all risk involved.
Once you receive your eggs take them out of the package and let them rest for 12-24 hrs before placing them in the incubator. This will let the air sacs stabilize and can help improve your hatch rate. We do not guarantee hatchability. Hatch rate on shipped eggs are on average 35-50%, but can be more or less. Getting over 70%-75% on shipped eggs is Excellent

Shipping chicks/ducklings
We will ship chicks/ducklings via West Jet Airlines and Air Canada. Cost to ship by air is about $225 for chicks. (older Birds may be more). Canada wide. We require a $200. Minimum order. We will also ship older poultry but price may vary depending on weight and size of box or crate. We do charge $10 for the chick shipping box, pad & grow gel, plus $5 for every heat pack needed.
We are now able to ship chicks [DAY OLDS ONLY] via Canada Post. To certain areas only.
Minimum order 10 chicks.
